Dorinda Urquidez, 84, former resident, passed away Friday, December 10, 2011 in Pasco, Washington.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Michael E. Bingham officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Dorinda Urquidez was born June 10, 1927 in Loving, NM. She received her diploma from Carlsbad High School in 1946 where she had played in the band four years. Dorinda attended Bynum School of Music, studying piano ten years. She later taught piano lessons for 16 years. Dorinda married Samuel Urquidez, Sr. on February 8, 1946 in Roswell, NM. She worked for the US Postal Service in White City over eight years. Dorinda's hobbies included quilting, knitting, cross stitching, decorating cakes and listening to gospel music. She was a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Juanita Armendariz, husband, Samuel Urquidez, and brother, Roosevelt Armendariz.
She is survived by three sons: Samuel Urquidez, Jr. and Olivia Zuniga of Carlsbad, NM, Amos Urquidez of Carlsbad, NM, Kenneth Urquidez and wife, Debby of Carlsbad, NM; four daughters: Dorene Holland of Graham, WA, Imie Carrasco and husband, Eddie of Carlsbad, NM, Shirley "Sunny" Adams and husband, Harold "Buddy" of Pasco, WA, Linda Chapell of Atlanta, GA; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; two sisteres: Betty Gutierrez of Yakima, WA and Lucy Guajardo of Artesia, NM.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Clifton, Leo Salazar, Mark Smith, Michael Sides, Dennis Williams and Richard Soules.
