Dorinda Duzan, 78, of Cimarron Trail, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 11, 2024 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Cremation will take place and a memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, January 15, 2024 at Sunset Church of Christ with Dale Gifford officiating.
Dorinda was born May 11, 1945 in El Paso, Texas, to Morris and Ronda (Clements) Dunagan. After graduating from high school, she received a bachelors degree from Abilene Christian University and later earned a master’s in social work from University of Texas. Dorinda taught school several years in Odessa, Texas followed by a long-time career in child protective services in central Texas. She relocated to Carlsbad a few years ago and was recently serving as a social worker with Carlsbad Public Schools. Dorinda and her brother, Lane Dunagan, became members of Sunset Church of Christ shortly after moving to Carlsbad. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, exploring, but most of all buying furniture.
Dorinda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom McAuley and daughter, Shelly Roggendorff.
Survivors include her son, Kevin Duzan and wife Kathy; son-in-law, Paul Roggendorff; grandchildren, Nick, Sydney and Taylor Duzan and Chris, Ethan, and Allison Roggendorff; brother, Lane Dunagan; sister, Greta Wedepohl and husband Bob, a niece and nephew.
