Obituary Dora R. Muniz, 67, of S. Sixth Street, Artesia, New Mexico, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Lovelace Medical Center, Albuquerque, NM. Visitation will be 3:00 PM 5:00 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2018 at San Jose Catholic Church. Liturgy of the Word is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, February 26, 2018 at San Jose Catholic Church with Deacon Tony Dominguez officiating. Cremation will take place following the services. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Dora R. Muniz was born December 5, 1950 in Carlsbad, NM to Carlos and Petra (Rodriguez) Jacquez. She loved to cook and was a thoughtful and caring person. Dora enjoyed music and spending time with her grandkids. She was a loving, caring mother and she will be greatly missed. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Petra Jacquez; son, Carlos Mendiola and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors are her husband, Candido Muniz, Sr. of Artesia, NM; sons: Candido Muniz, Jr. of Artesia, NM, Jerry Jacquez of Carlsbad, NM and Roger Mendiola of Santa Fe, NM; daughters: Crystal Muniz of Artesia, NM, Candy Garcia and husband, Faustino of Roswell, NM, Cayce Gonzales and husband, Daniel of Rio Rancho, NM; Cynthia Mendiola of Albuquerque, NM, Christy Mendiola of Santa Fe, NM; numerous grandchildren and sisters: Mary Lou Campos and Emma Sandate, both of Carlsbad, NM.
