Dora Lee Olivas

Dora Olivas, 64, of Dagger Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 22, 2023 at Casa Maria Health Care, Roswell, NM. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, August 28, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, August 29, 2023 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dora was born May 14, 1959 in Carlsbad, NM to Delfino and Refugia Buendia. She never had a fountain drink without a lot of ice.  Dora loved spending time with her grandchildren and they had fun fixing her hair and giving grandmother a makeover which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joaquin Buendia. Survivors are her son, Santana Olivas, Jr. and wife, Jessica; daughters: Sadie Olivas and Reginaldo Vidal, Sasha Olivas and Osmondo Viernes; grandchildren: Jyesenia, Giancarlo, Sariana, Martin, Joaquin, Ismael, Jake, Elizabeth, Jaidyn, Heaven, Nevaeh, Martin Jr., Angel and baby Viernes; sister, Norma Munoz and husband, Antonio; brothers: Armando Buendia and wife, Romelia, Danny Buendia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jake Tovar, Giancarlo Olivas, Ismael Viernes, Jhyress Soto, Marcos Munoz, Ryan Buendia, Jr., Gerardo Alamo, Mariano Munoz and Pedro Munoz.
