Donna Lee Storme

Donna "Granny" Storme stepped over onto Streets of Gold, Friday, February 26, 2016. She had been a patient at Carlsbad Medical Center where she received excellent care. Donna's Celebration of Life ceremony is to be held at New Song Christian Fellowship, 1105 N. Pate Street, on Saturday March 5, 2016. Pastor John Burke will be officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Landsun Home's Caring Hands Program, 2002 Westridge Road, Carlsbad, NM 88220 Donna L. Storme was born August 4, 1936 in Fort Davis, Texas to Alton and Sarah Lee (McNew) Word. She later married Monte Cley Storme. They had three children: Ida Lee (Storme) Fraser, Iris Jean (Storme) Hartsock and Ira Craig Storme. All reside in Carlsbad, NM. Donna worked in the kitchen at Landsun Homes approximately eight years. On retirement, she became a Landsun volunteer and remained on until she passed. Monte preceded Donna in death in the year 2000. Donna was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judy Gibbs, Kathryn Kaiser, Patsy Phillips and Jane Beck. Survivors include her sister, Sue Mosier of Oklahoma and brother, Odis Word of New Mexico. She is also survived by multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is loved by many.
