Donna Jo Neatherlin, 74, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Carlsbad Medical Center. Donna was born on October 28, 1950, in Cortez, CO to Gus and Bessie Steward.

There will be no visitation, and a graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Destry McDonald officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Donna married the love of her life, Bennie Neatherlin on December 16, 1972. They had a beautiful family together, having three daughters. Family meant the world to Donna, and she cherished every moment she could spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful follower of Christ, and member of Landmark Baptist Church. She was known by many as Nana, and she had a loving and creative spirit. Donna loved redecorating her house, and she enjoyed sewing and would make doll clothes for her girls when they were growing up. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. 

Donna is preceded in death by her father, Gus Edward Steward; mother, Bessie Jo (Hodges) Steward; and brother, Robert Steward.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bennie Neatherlin of Carlsbad, NM; three daughters: Leanna Allen and husband, Lance of Whispering Pines, NC; Jodi Gregory of Keller, TX; and Stacey Hobbs and husband, Jamie of Carlsbad, NM; nine grandchildren: Morgan Humrichouser (Jonathan), Taylor McPherson (Denise), Madeline Allen, Isabelle Allen, Grant Gregory, Dustin Smith (Erin), Caylie Wattenbarger, Timber Barry (Hunter), and Wyatt Graves; six great grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Hunter Barry, Wyatt Graves, Grant Gregory, Dustin Smith, Brian Stevens, Jessie Stevens, and Chris Steward.
