Obituary Donna Louise (Holt) Lyon, 73, passed away in the loving arms of her loyal husband on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at her home in Carlsbad, NM after a long illness. Donna was born on October 9, 1946 in El Paso, TX, where she was raised, byWilliam and Madge Holt. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Willis and Wendell Holt), two sisters (Betty Lidard and Karen Moore), and her step mother (Jessie Holt). She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lyon, her three children, Raymond Lyon (Tandy), Glen Lyon (Jennifer), April Crosser (John), and her God-Given daughter, Heather Love. She has six adoring grandchildren, Jacob Brocker, Brandon Lyon, Kendall Lyon, Caden Lyon, Brooke Crosser, and Evan Crosser. She is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Smith and Carol Kimball. Donna's purpose in life was to serve the Lord by being a loving wife, raising her children, working as a reflexology therapist for more than 25 years with Archie Bannister and on her own, singing and serving in her church in many capacities, performing locally in concerts and theatre, and loving her neighbors and people in the community showing the love of God to everyone. Donna spent most of her life in Carlsbad from 1968 - 2020 where she met and married her husband, Robert, and raised their children. Donna and Robert were married for 51 years. Donna was long time member of First Christian Church and Eastern Star. Her hobbies consisted of singing, dancing, sewing, and blessing others with her huge heart, glowing, colorful smile, and many other talents. She absolutely loved, spoiled, and cherished her grandchildren and surrogate grandchildren. She was her children's biggest fan and always bragged about her children and grandchildren. Friends and family and her children's friends always referred to her as "Everyone's Mom". Donna was known for her signature style and her own unique fashion sense that always matched her beautiful personality and smile. Mom's effervescent love and smile was apparent, and she just flat sparkled at times. You couldn't help but smile as you felt the embrace of her loving glow. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 2 pm at First Christian Church, 502 S. Guadalupe St. in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
