Donna Alleine Carter

Donna Alleine Carter, 84, of E. Blodgett Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Cremation has taken place and private services were held. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donna Alleine Carter was born August 2, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to William Finley and Mary Olive (Hill) Porter. She was the most loving, compassionate, unselfish and forgiving daughter, mom, grandma and great-grandma ever. Donna is an angel in heaven now just as she was here on earth. She always put others before herself. She loved to paint, especially horses. The horses "came alive" as she painted them on the canvas. She enjoyed collecting dolls. One of her greatest joys was taking care of her great-grandson, Auston. They had their own special secrets. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Carter and brother, John Porter. Survivors are her sisters: Margaret Leffler of Benton, IL, Grace Foreman and husband, Len of Middleton, OH; brothers: Billy Porter and wife, Patricia of Golden Valley, AZ, Kenny Porter and wife, Marilyn of Carlsbad, NM; sister-in-law, Kathy Porter of Carlsbad, NM; children: Sharon Mitchell and husband, Gary of Jefferson, TX, Sheila Bailey and husband, Jim of Carlsbad, NM, Dale Carter and Kathie Schreiber of California, Mary Jayne O'Rear and husband, Dale of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Bobbi Worden and Chase Settle of Carlsbad, NM, Tara Walls and husband, Chace of Carlsbad, NM, Misty Gomez and husband, Chris of Carlsbad, NM; great-grandson, Auston Worden of Carlsbad, NM; "big sis", Christina Trantham of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
