Donald "Donnie" Edward Woods

Donald Edward "Donnie" Woods, 62, of Joshua Court, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away May 5, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 10, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Blodgett Street Baptist Church with Pastor David Prell officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Prairie Haven Cemetery, Hobbs, New Mexico next to his daughter, Natalie, who died in an auto accident in 1989. Military honors will be provided. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donald Edward "Donnie" Woods was born April 12, 1948 in Hobbs, NM to John E. and May Ethel (Rodgers) Woods. He attended school in Hobbs. Donnie was drafted into the US Army and served during Vietnam for 17 months. Donnie worked for BOPCO-L.P. for 33 years, which he thanked God for. He married Therese Pulis on June 12, 1999 in Carlsbad. Donnie loved being with family and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and doing projects around the house. The Lord gave Donnie the opportunity to be reunited in the Lord's House and he asks his family and friends to seek a church and serve Jesus. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Natalie Woods. He is survived by his wife, Therese Woods of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Shelli Galloway and husband, Sheldon of Carlsbad, NM; two step-daughters: Cassey Burkeen and Joe of Lubbock, TX, Amanda Snider and husband, Charlie of Albuquerque, NM; step-son, Michael Bernauer of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren: Zoe Galloway, Stevie Ray Ferrell; four sisters: Barbara Cox, Dorothy Gibson and husband, Pete, Jo Latimer and husband, Gary, Brenda Turner and husband, Jimmy all of Hobbs, NM; brother, Gary Woods of Hobbs, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Callaway, Dean Clemmer, Steve Cox, Joe Don Latimer, Larry Pulis and Floyd Reed. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
