Donald W. "Don" Lynch, 65, of West Church Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
There will be no visitation, cremation will take place.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Donald W. "Don" Lynch was born November 6, 1947 in Carlsbad, NM to Jim and Betty Jo (Loman) Lynch. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1966. Don joined the US Army after graduating. His first year of service he was with Shape in Germany and served during Vietnam for three years. Don married Lynda Bright on November 23, 1970 here in Carlsbad. He continued his service in the Army both in Germany and here in the states until ending his career in the military on May 31, 1979. Don then began a long time career in sales working in the auto business and later the furniture business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Don also enjoyed cooking and gardening with his daughter-in-law, Melonie. He never turned down the opportunity to bounce his grandchildren on his knee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Lynch of Carlsbad, NM; three sons: David Lynn Lynch and wife, Kelly of Spokane, WA, Brandon Lee Lynch and wife, Melonie of Carlsbad, NM, Sean Michael Lynch and wife, Mary of Carlsbad, NM; ten grandchildren: Airon, Vincent, Theo, Alyson, Michael, Jaedyn, Alyssa, Chris, Todd, Kyle; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers: Keith Lynch and wife, Sarah, Dennis Lynch and wife, Linda and numerous nieces and nephews.
