Donald Buddah Young, 67, of Welshire Street, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Carlsbad Medical Center. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, October 23, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Kevin Miller offi ciating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donald Buddah Young was born April 29, 1950 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to John B. and Beatrice (Johnson) Young. He was a personal trainer. He was also a coach for Little Cavemen Football as well as a softball coach. One of his favorite sports was powerlifting. He loved going to the mountains to hike and be a part of nature. His faith was strong. He was very open-minded. While in college, he played for the Ft. Lewis Rams. He also tried out for the Seattle Seahawks and the Houston Oilers. He was also a head foreman at IMC. While in college he received his degree in Psychology. He is survived by his son Erik Young of Carlsbad, NM., daughters: Erika Young of Albuquerque, NM., Ebony Young of San Antonio, TX., grandchildren: Idalis Young, Marcus Florez, Brandon Flores, Sable Barnes, Michael Onsurez, great grandchild: Mireya Alvarado.
