Obituary Dewey (Papa) Coats was born on March 10, 1926 to John and Pheobe Coats in Sunset, Texas. He passed on July 7, 2018 at Landsun Homes. Dewey is survived by his son, Harold Coats and wife Janie of Carlsbad, New Mexico and daughter Donna Lindt and husband Jerry of Kingsland, Texas, granddaughters Shanna Coats Price and husband Arthur of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Shaye Coats of Loving, New Mexico and grandson, Jerry Lindt Jr. of Kingsland, Texas and 6 great grandchildren, Michelle Lopez, Michael Carr, Matthew Carr, D.J. Whitlock, Hunter Doyle and Jacob York. He had 6 great-great grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by one sister, Alley Crider. Dewey was preceded in death by his wife Naomi (Meme) Coats, his parents, John and Pheobe Coats, brothers, Malcom Coats and Dale Coats.
