Delores "Dee" Lacy, 74, of North Canal Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at her home.
There will be no visitation; cremation will take place.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Blodgett Street Baptist Church with Pastor David Prell officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Delores "Dee" Lacy was born February 28, 1940, in Childress, Texas to Orville and Jenny (Prescott) King. On December 20, 1957, she married Allan Lacy. They moved to Carlsbad in 1967. For the next 17 years, Dee worked as a LPN delivering babies at St. Francis Hospital and Memorial Hospital. She was very active with Meals on Wheels for several years. Dee also volunteered at the CARC Country Store and with Pet Partners, where she and her dog Ben would go to the hospital and visit patients. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She loved her grandchildren. Dee was a member of Blodgett Street Baptist Church and was a devout prayer warrior who loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Roy Lacy and two sisters.
Survivors are her husband of 56 years, Allan Lacy of Carlsbad, NM; son, Keith Allen Lacy and wife, Lesley of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren: Kevin John Lacy of Santa Fe, NM, Carter Allen Lacy of Las Cruces, NM, Tyler Cain Lacy of Chicago; brothers, Terry Clyde King of Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
