Delores “Dee” Alline, 84, of E. Plum Lane, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at her home. Cremation will take place. Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited at 9:30 AM, Friday, February 10, 2023 at St. Edward Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating assisted by Deacon Jerry Pierce. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Dee was born November 22, 1938 in Buffalo, New York to John and Margaret (Kankiewicz) Szalasn. She graduated from Sloan High School and St. Mary’s Business School in Buffalo. Dee married William Alline May 2, 1964 in Bronx, New York. She worked for the telephone company for a number of years. Bill and Dee moved to Carlsbad in 1990 in order for Billy to live at CARC, which is a unique treasure and blessing from God. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Christian Women’s Club and volunteered at CARC Bargain Store. Dee loved cooking, baking and crocheting having made numerous blankets in her life time. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, William “Bill” Alline.
Survivors are her son, Billy Alline; daughter, Kathleen Covert; grandchildren: Christopher West and Kaitlin Jameson; 2 great-grandchildren and extended family: Mary, Bob, Paul and Sue. Also surviving are her spoiled dogs, Dixie and Diva; guardian angels, Pattie Moore and Valerie Cole who took wonderful care of Dee, day and night; caregiver, Shannon Marquez for your kind heart.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Enhabit Hospice Team of Carlsbad; Jennifer, Shania, Lexi, Debra, Christina and especially Katrina Armendariz. Also, a special thanks to St. Edward parishioners, Florence Golden, Regina Rodriguez and Madeline Fisher, who did weekly visits to pray with and over her, we thank you so much for giving her soul peace.
