Delma Lopez, 82, of N. 3rd Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away November 18, 2022 at her son’s home.  Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at San Jose Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating.  Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.

Delma was born November 14, 1940 in Carlsbad, NM to Guadalupe and Anita (Navarette) Pena.  She married Pascual Lopez March 11, 1957 here in Carlsbad.  Delma loved going to the casinos, dancing, cooking, spending quality time with the grandkids and traveling.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pascual Lopez; son, Ricky Lopez; granddaughter, Chanel M. Lopez; two brothers and one sister.

Survivors are her children: Abel Lopez and wife, Angie, Corina Moreno and husband, George, Robert Lopez and wife, Lucy, Eddie Lopez and wife, Devan, Tommy Lopez, Joann Lee, Ricky Lopez and wife, Denise, John Lopez and wife, Veronica; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 9 sisters; 3 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Enhabit Hospice and especially Amanda Alvarado with Comfort Keepers for the wonderful care they gave Delma.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Lopez, Andrew Moreno, Christopher Lopez, Eddie Lopez, R.J. Lopez, Cheralle Lopez, Devin Sanchez and Arianna Lee. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
