Deklyn Ryan Crookes

Deklyn Ryan Crookes entered the world on the morning of September 21, 2014 and left our earthly home to be present with the Lord on the morning of September 30, 2014. He left while resting peacefully in his mommy's arms and within his daddy's loving gaze. During his 9 days of life, he touched many people through his strength and endurance. Countless people prayed for sweet Deklyn's healing, peace, and comfort and that is exactly what he is enjoying in Heaven with his Lord, Jesus Christ. His short life was a testimony of the power of prayer and faith. Deklyn is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Vanessa Crookes; paternal grandparents, Frank and Linda Crookes of Bakersfield, California; maternal grandparents, Ramon and Brenda Florez of Carlsbad, New Mexico; maternal aunt, Charlee Florez; and 5 paternal uncles amongst numerous extended family members. A graveside service will be held on October 25, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family will be taking monetary or toy donations to donate to the NICU and Ronald McDonald House in Deklyn's memory. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
