Obituary Deborah L. Gregory, 65, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 4:00 PM 6:00 PM, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at New Song Christian Fellowship with Pastor John A. Burke officiating. Interment will follow at the Gregory Ranch, Rocky Arroyo Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Deborah was born March 9, 1953 in Pecos, Texas to Jack Cole and Juanella (Tiser) Burton. Debbie married Scott Gregory July of 1987. She worked for several years in Dr. Daras office; however, after her marriage to Scott, Debbie went to work in the Gregory family businesses. No job was insignificant to her. She was always willing to help wherever she was needed. Over the years Debbie waitressed at the Cortez, operated machinery, handled shipping/receiving and document control, operated a forklift, drove a delivery truck, was an executive assistant, and fulfilled a multitude of other tasks. Debbie always worked harder than anyone else and often did the job of several people. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. But the job she loved and cherished the most was nurturing her children, grandchildren, numerous unofficially adopted children, family members and friends. Many have said that she treated them even better than their own mothers. Debbie was an exhorter and an edifier. She had a servants heart and helped not only friends and family, but also people she didnt even know. She was a member of New Song Christian Fellowship where she was involved in the womens ministry. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Jack Burton and brother, Mike Burton. Survivors are her husband, Scott Gregory of Carlsbad, NM: daughter, Tanya Gregory of Carlsbad, NM; sons: Eric Powell and wife, Sicily of Ruidoso, NM, Donny Gregory and wife, Erin of Carlsbad, NM and David Powell and Randi Titus of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Juanella Burton of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Mason, Shay, Aleks, Jude, Willow, Josey, Lillah and Rayleigh; great-granddaughter, Madilyn; brothers: Gary Burton and wife, Cheryl, Wes Tiser; sister-in-law, Lorena Burton and numerous nieces, nephews and extended loved ones. Pallbearers will be Gary Burton, Clint Burton, Wes Tiser, Eric Powell, David Powell and Donny Gregory. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Gregory, L.W. Gregory, Ralph Carreon, David Azzinaro and Fred Deal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith, Hope, & Love Foundation, 933 N.
