David Thomas Weise

Obituary David Weise January 17, 1926 March 26, 2018 David Weise left this world to go to higher destination on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 92. He was a paratrooper in World War II in the 7th Battalion, 2nd Parachute Regiment. David came to Carlsbad from East Texas to work in the potash mines where he was a machinist. He was a fun-loving man and enjoyed many friends throughout his life. Davids talents were many, playing just about any instrument, whittling and carving wood to create beautiful and funny works of art. He is survived by his loving companion of over 25 years, Patsy Walker of Carlsbad; son, Wayne Weise of Eastland, Texas; two grandchildren: Jennifer and Ben of Texas; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Texas. While his family remained in Texas, he loved the New Mexico desert and remained here his whole life. David was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mary Coufal; wife, Jean Weise; brothers, Joe and Buddy Weise; sisters, Laura Wende, Maddie Reed and Hattie Bennie. He will be missed and is now in the hands of a loving God. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
