David K. Ridenour, 75, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, April 28, 2023 at Church Street Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ryan Nelson officiating.  Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

David was born August 30, 1947 in Ava, Missouri to Joseph and Ruby (Pursley) Ridenour. He graduated from Pasadena High School in Pasadena, CA in 1965, then attended Pasadena Nazarene College.  David served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.  He married Chris December 6, 1969 in Los Angeles. They moved to Carlsbad from California in 1978.  David worked for IMC Potash for a number of years.  He loved watching Gun Smoke and Fox News.  David was a member of Church Street Church of the Nazarene and was an avid lover of carpentry.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Christina Ridenour.

Survivors are his son, Eric Ridenour; daughter, Vanessa Ridenour-Green; grandchildren: Enoch Ridenour, Ian Ridenour, Mathias McGee and Lily McGee; sister, Gloria Rogers and husband, Dennis; brothers: Charles “Chuck” Ridenour and wife, Martha, Dennis “Denny” Ridenour and wife, Christine and numerous nieces and nephews.  Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
