David Lee Peterson

David Lee Peterson, 79, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. David was born on April 19, 1943, in Las Cruces, NM to Mack and Barthold Peterson.

David was a family man, and loved spending every moment he could with his wife, children and grandchildren. And oh, how those great grandchildren could do no wrong! His legacy will live on in their hearts, never being forgotten.  

David was preceded in death by his father, Mack D. Peterson; mother, Barthold J. (Head) Peterson; and five siblings: Daniel Peterson, Robert Peterson, Jerry Peterson, Donald “Ned” Peterson, and Tommy Peterson.

David is survived by his loving wife, Norma Peterson of Carlsbad, NM; two children: Larry M. Peterson of Colorado Springs, CO; and Gay Lynn Heaney and Richard Gauthier of San Antonio, TX; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two siblings: Larry D. Peterson and wife, Linda of Carlsbad, NM; and Cheryl Lynn Ricketts and husband, Fred of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
