David M. Armstrong

David M. Armstrong, 59, of Adobe Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2012, 3:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Eric Greer officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. David M. Armstrong was born on April 15, 1953 in Carlsbad, NM to Leo B. and Helen (Coats) Armstrong. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1971. David married Denise Stahle on May 31, 1974 here in Carlsbad. They had two children, Chris and Julie. David worked construction in New Mexico and Texas where he ran heavy equipment. He recently was working as a pipeline inspector. David enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and they always loved the outdoors. David cherished his family and friends and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sue West. Survivors are his wife, Denise Armstrong; son, Chris Armstrong and wife, Amber; daughter, Julie Duncan all of Carlsbad; grandchildren: Randy and Allie Armstrong and Alexis, Leah, Frankie, Joshua and Jacob Duncan; sisters: Janice Gibson of Carlsbad, NM and Peggy Armstrong of El Paso, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
