David Hedgecock, 35, of West Richardson Street, Artesia, NM, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013, at New Beginnings Church of God, 234 North 6th Street with Rev. Dean McAllister and Jason Kraft officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. David Hedgecock was born August 28, 1978 in Carlsbad, NM to Billy Wayne and Thelma K. (Pointer) Hedgecock. He married Jehra Kinney on April 25, 2010 in Carlsbad. He was a life long resident of the Carlsbad area. David had been active in the 4-H, rodeoing, bull riding and enjoyed fishing and being outside. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Glen V. Hedgecock; grandparents: Bill and Johnnie McCautey; grandfather, W. F. "Bill" Pointer; sister, Tisha Ruth Hedgecock; cousins: Sasha Hedgecock and Glen "Ace" Hedgecock. He is survived by his wife, Jehra Hedgecock of Artesia, NM; son, Little David Hedgecock of Artesia, NM; daughter, Amanda Allen of Midland, Texas; parents, Billy and Thelma Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; two brothers: Shawn Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM, Michael Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Lily Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; grandmother, Gladys Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ricky and Linda Ellis of Artesia, NM; brothers-in-law, Casey Ellis of Artesia, NM, Gene Ellis of Artesia, NM; grandmother-in-law, Eunice Kinney of Artesia, NM and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Pallbearers will be Michael Lassiter, Ricky Ellis, Joey Rendino, Billy Hedgecock, Jr., Johnathan Hedgecock and Kendale Hendrix. Honorary are Little David Hedgecock, Shawn Hedgecock, Michael Hedgecock, Casey Ellis, Gene Ellis, Ten Services Crew, John Wood, James Elliot, Nathan Harvey, Lee Kinney and Ray Quiroz.
