Obituary Darrek J. Duke, 48, of Artesia, passed away May 26, 2019 in Artesia, NM. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Harvey Hebison officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Darrek was born March 20, 1971 in Harrisburg, Illinois. He graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1989. Darrek married Trixy February 27, 2012. They moved to New Mexico and Darrek worked for Intrepid Potash several years before going to work for Lucid Energy. He had a passion for four-wheeling and loved working on Jeeps. Darrek also enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his brother, Cary Griffith. Survivors are his wife, Trixy Duke; daughter, Chelsea Duke; sons: Chayton Duke, Jase Duke, Trenton Tjaden; daughter, Kylie Beckwith; mother, Michelle Bulda and husband, Ross; father, Darrell Duke; stepmother, Janet Duke; siblings: Candi Bonds, Roschelle Bulda, Michael Duke, Marty Griffith and Shawna Duke Cowsert and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
