Darlene Lois Keen

Darlene Lois Keen, 90, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Monday, April 25, 2022, at her home.

Darlene was born on July 17, 1931, to James and Laura Roan in Temple, Texas. She married her best friend and soulmate, Rex "Terry" Keen on January 17, 1964, in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Darlene was a long-time member of Otis Baptist Church in Otis, New Mexico. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband. She also liked taking her grandchildren to the river in Carlsbad.

Darlene is survived by two children, Ellen (William) Simmons of Poplar Bluff and Larry (Beverly) Newby Sr. of Marble Falls, Texas; six grandchildren, Terry (Rebecca) Vanlandingham of Big Springs, Texas, Clint (Amy) Vanlandingham of Van Buren, Missouri, Teresa (Joel) Casper of Leander, Texas, Laura Kay Newby of Marble Falls, Texas, Larry Newby Jr. of Marble Falls, Texas, and Travis (Brandi) Simmons of Odessa, Texas; numerous great-grandchildren and extended family.

Darlene was preceded by her parents; husband; one sister, Lorene Calvery and husband Don.

A public graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 07, 2022, at 2:00pm where she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Carlsbad Cemetery.
