Danny V. Buendia

Danny V. Buendia, 62, of Howard Road, Carlsbad, NM passed away February 15, 2025 at his home. Cremation has taken place and a vigil will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, February 24, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Danny was born May 9, 1962 in Carlsbad, NM to Delfino and Refugia (Valliejo) Buendia. He was a loving grandfather whom adored his three grandchildren. They were his world and he loved them tremendously. Danny was a hard-working father and husband. He was well-known in the oil industry, working for M&M Excavating, MSI, and Superior Welding. Danny built a tank battery that appeared in a magazine. He always took his time and made sure his work was to perfection. Danny often did side jobs from time to time. He wouldn’t ever pass up beans and homemade tortillas, and always had a sweet tooth craving. Danny will be missed. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Buendia; daughter, Bertha Buendia; brother, Joaquin Buendia, and sister, Dora Olivas.

Survivors are his children: Brenda Buendia and Hector Marrufo, Daniel Buendia, Jr., Ryan Buendia and wife, Michelle, Destiny Soto and husband, Omar; grandchildren: Janay Buendia, Ryan Buendia, Jr., and Jhyress Soto; sister, Norma Munoz and husband, Tony; brothers: Armando Buendia and wife, Romelia, Joshua Buendia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
