Daniel "Nufy" Arnulfo Vasquez-Contreras

Daniel Arnulfo "Nufy" Vasquez-Contreras, 19, of Hays Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 12, 2013, 2:30 PM, at Oasis Christian Fellowship with Pastor Alberto Alvarez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Daniel Arnulfo "Nufy" Vasquez-Contreras was born December 6, 1993 in Monahans, Texas. He moved to Carlsbad with his parents when he was 2 years old. Nufy graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2012. He had a passion for sports and always followed the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees and the Trojans. His hobbies included long boarding, riding dirt bikes and playing basketball and football. Nufy's daughter Nevaeh was the apple of his eye, love of his life, his baby girl and his everything. Nufy had an unconditional love for his family and friends. He is now reunited with his dad in heaven, who he dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny A. Contreras and an uncle, Arnulfo E. Vasquez. Survivors are his daughter, Nevaeh Rose Vasquez of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Mandy Vasquez and Bo Fournier of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Jeremy Vasquez of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Donielle Vasquez of Sherman, TX; maternal grandmother, Claudia Evaro of Pecos, TX; paternal grandparents, Marcos and Angie Contreras of Pecos, TX; maternal grandfather, Ramon G. Orona of Odessa, TX; niece, Mia Marie Vasquez; nephews: Haydyn Vasquez, J. D. Vasquez and Gabriel Luke Vasquez and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Dylan Baca, Nicholas Crawford, Dustin Britain, Angel Valle, Eric Galindo, Chris Lara, Shawn Cook, Jacob Mireles and Jason Palmer.
