Dana G. Asbury

Dana G. Asbury, 61, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Dana was born on August 4, 1961, in Carlsbad, NM to Stanley and Joyce Vest.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is scheduled 10:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Church Street Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Serina Nelson officiating.

Dana was full of character, and never missed an opportunity to tell it like it was all while joking with you. She had a big heart and a stubborn exterior. Dana was the person that would give you her shirt of her back, and she raised her children by that example. If she found out that someone needed food, she would be right there to make sure they were taken care of. Dana enjoyed rock hunting, hiking, photography, and she always had to have her candy and soda pop, as she diagnosed herself allergic to water. She loved her family dearly, and she will be deeply missed.   

Dana was preceded in death by her husband, George Asbury; and two siblings: Jerry Vest and Kathryn Vest.

Dana is survived by her five children: Monica Kidd and Aaron of Carlsbad, NM; Jeremiah Asbury and Jennifer of Geronimo, OK; Nichole Asbury of Wichita Falls, TX; Dustin Vest of Carlsbad, NM; and Rheanna Asbury and Colin Gilmore of Carlsbad, NM; twelve grandchildren; parents, Stanley and Joyce Vest of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Gil Vest of Carlsbad, NM; her dog, Baby Girl.
