Dale Bright

Dale Bright, 96, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Lakeview Christian Home. Dale was born on December 14, 1927, in Weaverville, NC to Arnold and Velma Brown.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no services at this time. Interment will take place next to her husband at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Dale grew up in Leister, NC where she graduated from high school. She went to work for Southern Bell in Ashville, NC and then moved to Carlsbad, NM in 1945. Dale married the love her life, Q. G. Bright, on April 1, 1946, in Carlsbad, where they started their family. She went to work for GTE where she retired from. In later years, Dale and Q. G. moved to Grants, NM and then to Austin, TX. After each move, they would end up back in Carlsbad where she would work for JC Penny’s until 1995 where she spent her time taking care of her husband. Dale was a lover of the outdoors, and she enjoyed going fishing, hunting, and camping. She loved her family dearly, and she took every moment she had to make memories with them to last a lifetime. 

Dale was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Bly Brown; mother, Velma Gusta (Meadows) Brown; husband, Q. G. Bright; daughter, Sherri Parrott; great grandson, Jordan Anthony Lopez; two brothers, Frank Brown and Burton Brown; sister-in-law, Vern Brown; son-in-law, Don Lynch; and close friend, Hilliard Cassada.

Dale is survived by her daughter, Lynda Lynch of Carlsbad, NM; four grandchildren: David Lynch (Kelly), Brandon Lynch (Melonie), Sean Lynch (Mary) and Michele Lopez (Robert); eleven great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
