Obituary Cristina H. Estrada, 93, of Howard Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away November 20, 2020 at her home. Visitation will be 6 PM 8 PM, Monday, November 23, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation is limited to five people in the chapel at a time and facial coverings are required. Private services will be held at Carlsbad Cemetery withDeacon Tony Dominguez officiating. Cristina was born July 24, 1927 in Loving, NM, to Vicente and Reyes (Brito) Hernandez. She married Alberto Estrada March 30, 1944 in Carlsbad, NM. Cristina was a wonderful cook, always having homemade tortillas, green chile and beans for everyone that came to her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alberto Estrada; children: David, Gilberto, Avel, Rose, Rosemary, Teresa, Rojelio, Emma and Paul; great-grandson, AdamCoor; brothers: Pedro Hernandez, Fermin Hernandez, Florencio Franco; sisters: Vital Urquidez, Estefana Lopez, Socorro Hernandez and Genoveva Saiz; close friends, Francisca Parraz, Antonia Navarrette, Rita Martin, affectionately known as the Golden Girl. Survivors are her children: Josie Trevino, Minnie Juarez, Rosa Medrano and husband, Isaias, Pete Estrada, Esperanza Mendoza and husband, Rick, Oscar Estrada, Albert Estrada and wife, Delores, Helen Lopez and husband, Gerald, Ruben Estrada and wife, Polly, Roy Estrada and wife, Irma, Henry Estrada, Richard Estrada and Johnny Munoz; 36 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
