Cristin Urquidez Aranda

Cristin Urquidez Aranda, 90, of Colfax Street, Carlsbad, NM, died peacefully at home Sunday, March 6, 2016. Visitation will be at 6:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2016 at San Jose Catholic Church; rosary will follow at 7:00 PM. Celebration of the mass is scheduled for Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:30 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church. Fr. Martin Cordero will officiate. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Cristin Urquidez Aranda was born July 24, 1925 in Loving, NM to Marcos and Bernarda (Urquidez) Aranda. In 1947, he married Guadalupe Carrasco in Mexico. Cristin was employed by the Carlsbad Municipal Schools from 1941 until June 1982. His children and grandchildren were the delight and joy of his life. He is survived by:. his wife, Guadalupe; children: Frank C. Aranda of Carlsbad; Christina and Keith Taylor of Flower Mound, TX; Joe C. Aranda of Carlsbad; Robert and Connie Aranda of Carlsbad; Patricia C. Aranda of Austin, TX; Bill and Jean Aranda of Borger, TX; Avelina and Jimmie Childress of Carlsbad; Lourdes and Steve Guthrie of Baton Rouge, LA; Mark and Shawna Aranda of Monument, NM. He is survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Alejandra Garcia, Lupe Mendoza, and numerous nieces and nephews.
