Craig Judson Walterscheid

Craig Judson Walterscheid was born on June 15, 2003, in Louisville, Colorado, on Father’s Day, looking just like his father, James. He passed away on December 6, 2024, in Carlsbad, NM.

Craig was a remarkable young man, and such a blessing to all who knew him. He was a hard worker, and as soon as he turned 18, Craig began his career with an excellent crew at Buckhorn. He later worked for Strata in new production. Craig was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where he enjoyed his time as an altar server. The years spent journeying with his family with wind turbines as their backdrop created unforgettable moments filled with adventure and excitement. They travelled to many exciting places and lived life to the fullest. His beautiful smile, eyes and laugh will never be forgotten.

Craig was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kim Duckett; great-grandparents, Judson and Eileen Cryer, Edward and Mary Lou Walterscheid, L.L. and Ethel Duckett, Barbara Jean Griffin and great-aunt, Patricia Cryer.

Craig’s loving family will forever hold him close in their hearts. He leaves behind his father, James; mother, Amber; sister, Eileen; brother, John; girlfriend, Jazlyn McBride and her children, Emberlynn and Michael; grandparents, Monica and Steve Walterscheid, J.J. Duckett; great-grandfather, John Griffin and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. They find solace in knowing that through his resurrection with Christ in heaven, Craig is at peace. Though their hearts are broken, they lovingly cherish every memory they shared with him, and laughter, joy, and unconditional love that he brought into their lives.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at St. Edward Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to dinner prior to the rosary at 5:30 PM at St. Edward parish hall. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Private burial will take place.
