Cory Don Allen

Cory Don Allen, 44, of North Edward Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 in Mississippi. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Paradise Chapel with Pastor Mike Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Cory Don Allen was born on February 28, 1969, in Slaton, Texas, to Melvin R. Allen and Lois A. (Gill) Williams. He worked as a defense contractor, serving two tours in Afghanistan and two tours in Iraq. Cory was an avid wood carver. He also worked as a carpenter and enjoyed restoring old cars. He liked to fish and was able to travel the world. Cory was a member of Victory Baptist Church and accepted the Lord at the age of 10. He was preceded in death by his brother Marty Paul Allen. Survivors are his mother: Lois Williams and husband, Harold, Jr. of Carlsbad, New Mexico, father: Melvin R. Allen of Snyder, Texas, grandmother: Betty Williams of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, brother: Keenan Scott Williams of Carlsbad, New Mexico, sisters: Starlett Allen of Georgia and Melissa Daughtery of Carlsbad, New Mexico, nieces: Kierston Allen, Bryce Ramsey, Tahnee Ramsey, step-brother: Jason Williams of Minnesota and step-sister: Amanda Jiron of Carlsbad, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Keith Settle, Keenan Williams, Jason Williams, Jimmy Printes, Mike Lee, John Ramsey. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
