Corine D. Gonzalez, 88, of W. Pierce St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away December 7, 2009 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Friday, December 11, 2009 and 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Vigil services are scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2009, 6:00 PM at St. Edward Catholic Church, 201 North Guadalupe Street, Carlsbad, NM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2009, 2:00 PM, at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Cyprian Uline, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Corine D. Gonzalez was born September 14, 1921 in Shafter, Texas to Narciso and Petra (Gonzalez) DeAnda. She was preceded in death by her husband, Petronilo Gonzalez in 1997. Corine is survived by five children: Irma F. Hernandez and husband, Zeke of Carlsbad, NM, Imelda Gonzalez of Albuquerque, NM, Petronilo Gonzalez, Jr. of Colorado, Ida Pearson of Carlsbad, NM and Sonny Gonzalez of Los Angeles, CA; 10 grandchildren: Robin Rendino and husband, Joe of Carlsbad, Michael Hernandez of Carlsbad, NM, Melanie Longoria and husband, Joel of Carlsbad, NM, Monica Halloway and husband, Jason of Albuquerque, NM, Alejandro Pintor of Albuquerque, NM, Yvonne Hernandez and husband, Emilio of Houston, TX, Carla Fahy and husband, David of Houston, TX, Jeanette Carmona and husband, John of Edgewood, NM, Petronilo Gonzalez, II of Albuquerque, NM and Richard Sillas and wife, Kristy of Carlsbad, NM; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Narcisco "Andy" DeAnda and wife, Betty of Carlsbad, NM, Faye Navarrette of Carlsbad, NM, Mary Acosta of Santa Fe, NM, Frank DeAnda and wife, MaryLou of Austin, TX and Pauline Mendoza of Los Angeles, California, and numerous nieces and nephews. Corine enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Her family will always love and miss her. Pallbearers will be Michael Hernandez, Edward Granger, Richard Sillas, Anthony "A.J."
