Cordie I. Mossier, 70, of Valleyview Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at her home.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2013, 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Aubrey Howell officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Cordie I. Mossier was born February 1, 1943 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Ivan T. and Faye (King) Dart. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1961. Cordie married Bill Mossier on October 31, 1959. She was a school bus driver for 16 years and was an over the road Commercial Truck Driver for 23 years. In 1992 she was awarded Driver of the Year for Mayflower Transit in special electronics. She also worked for TSMT, hauling nuclear waste into the WIPP project from 2001 - 2006. Cordie is a past president of the Women Auxiliary of the State Volunteer Fire Department and was a volunteer for the New Mexico Park Service for 6 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a longtime member of Blodgett Street Baptist Church where she was an organist and taught children in Sunday School. Cordie was a charter member of Happy Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Homer and Cordie King; parents, Ivan T. and Faye K. Dart; sister, Iva Sue Foreman and husband, Kenneth and a brother, Robert Dart.
Survivors are her husband, William "Bill" Mossier of the home; Billie Fleming and husband, Rick of Carlsbad, NM; Jacqueline Prince and husband, Robert of Odessa, TX, Joe Cox and wife,Janet of Queen,NM; Kenna Forman of Cloudcroft, NM; 16 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 18 great-grandkids; 1 great-great-grandkid; sisters: Nancy Painter and husband, Tom of Carlsbad, NM, Theda Phillips of Lubbock, TX; sister-in-law, Barbra Robertson of Carlsbad, NM; uncle, Robert Raymond King and wife, Peggy of Carlsbad, NM; numerous nieces and nephews, and friends whom she loved and adored; many friends who she considered family and extended family: Aubrey and Jewel Howell, Duane and Ruth Howell; Ray and Lura Howell all of Lubbock, TX and Kathy Howell of Corpus Christi, TX.
Pallbearers are Billy Cox, Matthew Cox, Josh Fleming, Chris Fleming, Robert Rutledge, Ben Fleming, Nick Fleming, Kaden Fleming, Doug Miles, Jessie Prince, Scott Prince, William Prince, Wesley Prince, Jeffery Shane Crnkovic, Kenton Crnkovic, Galen Crnkovic and Taylor Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Jodie Chism, Brandie Rutledge, Stephanie Teel and Trina Phillips.
Memorial contributions may be made to any cancer organization of the donors choice.
