Corbin S. Brockman

Corbin Skyler Brockman, 7, of Richard Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Huston officiating. Private interment will be in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Corbin Skyler Brockman was born August 15, 2008 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Dennis and Marley (Menefee) Brockman. Our angel boy had a rough start in this world as he was born with half his heart. Mommy and daddy had a long road ahead with this incredibly strong boy. Corbin's will to live along with unfailing prayer got him through 3 open heart surgeries and numerous other medical procedures. All of that helped to create the most beautiful life a sweet, ornery boy could have. He loved many things, the color red, eating at Mi Casita, going on "ride trucks" with both Poppie and daddy. He loved driving his John Deere and learned to drive at the age of 3. He was always curious about how things worked mechanically. One of his favorite things to do was to go watch the Deming boys at the dirt track races here in Carlsbad and in Eunice. His lively spirit sometimes got him in trouble but he was always quick to redeem himself. He never met a stranger and loved talking and cutting up with the men in his life. He and daddy were best buds and mom's most favorite snuggle baby. He was funny and charming with his beautiful gray-green eyes. So much joy and, most of all, love has been shared with our sweet child by everyone he has met. We were truly blessed to have been picked to be his mommy and daddy. Survivors are his parents, Dennis and Marley Brockman of Carlsbad, NM; maternal grandfather, David Menefee; maternal grandmother, Tracy Wade and husband, John; paternal grandparents, Jack and Linda Brockman; aunts and uncles: Kelsey Menefee, Shawn and Jennifer Warden, Lorene Brockman, Mike and Melanie Gadbury, Nancy Brockman; great-grandmother, Eden Minor and numeorus extended family.
