Cody Lee Smith

Cody Lee Smith, 30, former resident, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 30, 2017, 10:00 AM, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Cody Lee Smith was born December 2, 1986 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2004 and moved to Idaho Falls. Cody worked with his mom on a dude ranch and worked as a delivery driver for Snapple. Most recently he was working at a restaurant. Cody never met a stranger, was loved by many and had too many friends to count. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Bud Barnes, Charles Lee and Terry Caddell, great-grandparents: Bill and Geneva Smith and Faye Wass and cousins, Lecil Drake and Malachi Villegas. Survivors are his father, Chris Smith and Sabrina of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Shelly Barnes-King and husband, Justin of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Jayden Smith of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Chloe Smith of Carlsbad, NM; grandparents: Sunnie Caddell of Carlsbad, NM, Jimmy "Bo" Smith and wife, Meg of Wasilla, Alaska, Treva and Leo Tweedy of Carlsbad, NM, Sondra Padilla and husband, Fred of Carlsbad, NM and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Louie Barnes, Michael Barnes, Jayden Smith, Chloe Smith, Nigel Baldwin, Ernie Ortega, Nick Babcock, Craige Bradley and Duce Ford.
