Cloise A. "C.A.", 92, passed away on October 27, 2016 at his home in Carlsbad, New Mexico while surrounded by his family and friends. He was the husband of Johnnie R. Mosier. They shared seventy years of life together. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Cloise was born in Mills County, Texas to Nobie Lee and Fred Alfred Mosier. He bravely served his Country for two years, nine months, and eighteen days in the 552nd Anti-Aircraft Battalion in the United States Army. He served during World War II in Germany and England. He was very proud of his service. Cloise and Johnnie moved to Carlsbad in 1946. He gained employment with U.S. Potash where he worked as a conductor, engineer, and brakeman. After forty-one years of service in Carlsbad area potash mines, he retired from Kerr-McGee. Cloise was a member of Southside Church of Christ. He thoroughly enjoyed life. He was passionate about hunting, camping, and fishing. He enjoyed many fishing trips on the Rio Grande and summers camping in Eagles Nest, New Mexico. Cloise loved spending time with family and friends. He especially loved Mills County watermelon and sharing Coke floats with his grandchildren. Cloise had a kind, loving, caring, and gentle spirit. He had a great sense of humor and was strong and hardworking, a jack of all trades.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie and their two daughters, Linda K. Farmer and Gaylon A. Williams and husband, Avery; nephew Gary Williams and wife, Judy; four grandchildren, Randy Farmer and wife, Lisa, Gayla Farmer, Jennifer Moyers and husband, Jon, Clayton Williams and wife, Ketty; five great-grandchildren; Josh Farmer, Chelsea Moon and husband, Zach, Kale Williams, Joni Moyers and Jonah Moyers; and two great- great grandchildren, Brooke Moon and Savannah Moon, brother Dale Mosier and wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Barbara Mosier, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fred Mosier, Willie Glen Mosier, and Wayne Mosier; and one sister, Margree Kaylor.
