Cleofas "Canano" Carrasco Rodriguez, 84, of Hill Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 10, 2009 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2009, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2009, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Cleofas "Canano" Carrasco Rodriguez was born September 25, 1924 in Loving, NM to Elauterio B. and Longina (Olivas) Carrasco. She moved to Carlsbad as a young girl. Canano married Raul M. Rodriguez December 28, 1948 in Marfa, TX. She had a great passion for cooking and gardening. There was rarely a time she didn't have something on the stove. Canano cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons: Ernest and Daniel; granddaughter, Linaka Rodriguez; six sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her husband, Raul M. Rodriguez, Sr.; three daughters: Imelda Rodriguez Baca and husband, Larry of Seoul, South Korea, Yolanda R. Munoz and Sal Anaya of Carlsbad, NM, Rosaline Madrid and husband, Robert of Las Cruces, NM; four sons: Arnold Rodriguez and wife, Helen of Carlsbad, NM, Bennie Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM, Alonzo Rodriguez and wife, Linda of Loving, NM, Alvin Rodriguez and wife, Brenda of Carlsbad, NM; 13 grandchildren: Stephanie M. Rodriguez, Johnny Joe Munoz, Antoinette M. Hernandez, Daniel Madrid and wife, Valeria, Stephen Madrid, Melissa D. Rodriguez, Aileen Rodriguez, Valerie Rodriguez, Giovanni C. Rodriguez, Liana C. Rodriguez, Briana C. Rodriguez, Jamie Rodriguez and Jennifer R. and husband, Jon Burns; seven great-grandchildren: Alexis, Kimberley, Tristen, Joselyn, DeAndrea, Chazman and Brooklyn; brother, Pablo Carrasco of Redford, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Johnny Joe Munoz, Stephen Madrid, Daniel Madrid, Gio Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez and Brian Hernandez, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Liana C. Rodriguez, Briana C.
