Clayde Day Hodge

Obituary Clayde Day Hodge, 94, was born February 24, 1925 in Cottle City, TX and passed away September 1, 2019. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Bill Hodge; daughters: Carolyn Ryan and Edwina Reeves; sister, Savannah Derrick and brothers: Leroy, Bill, Elwood and Dan Carpenter. She leaves behind sisters: Bonnie Derrick, Idell Burnet and brother CA Carpenter; children: Larry (Maddy) Anglin, Francis Altgilbers, Jean (Tom) Tupper and grandchildren: Richard and Ray Reeves, Rosie Reeves Chavez, Jimmy and Dan Ryan, Paula Ryan Wallace, Larry Tupper, Troy Clayton, George and Larry Anglin, Mike and Matt McCory, Currin Balmer and Jaayme Speights, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Day watched the world move forward and went from milking cows and picking cotton, to riding in wagons and very early cars, and on to the newness of TV. She moved further into life to see man walking on the moon and now the wonders of cell phones and computers. The world changed around her, but she kept her faith in the Lord, her trust in common sense, and love of family. She will be forever missed. Services will be held at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, Sept. 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM followed by a meal and gathering at Jean and Toms home.
