Claudine was born on February 14, 1916, in Stanford, TX to Claude and Winifred Holderness. After finishing high school, Claudine went onto finish her teaching degree at Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, TX. She then moved to West Texas to start off her first year of teaching near Goldsmith on the Wight Ranch, and then for five years in Iraan, TX. Claudine then felt a call to New Mexico and began teaching fourth grade in Carlsbad, touching lives for almost thirty years. She then moved to Pennsylvania in 1970, and continued teaching in King of Prussia for fifteen years. Claudine lived a life of inspiring thousands of young people to work hard and reach their full potential. Her almost 50 years of teaching in the Carlsbad Municipal School District and in the other communities was an outstanding feat, only outmatched by her celebrating her 104th birthday earlier this year. Claudine left a monumental legacy, and she will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Claudine was preceded in death by her father, Claude Charles Holderness; mother, Winifred Miller Holderness; brother, William Bill Holderness; and brother, Herbert Hub Holderness.
Claudine is survived by her niece, Anne Carlton and husband, Michael of Mount Dora, FL; niece, Dr. Katharine Cole and husband, Clifford Brown of Woodstock, MD; niece, Terry Holderness McAdams and husband, Johnny of Granbury, TX; nephew, William Bill Holderness and wife, Maria of Chester Springs, PA; nine great nieces and nephews: James Carlton, Matthew Carlton, Alexander Cole, Christopher Cole, Jake McAdams and wife, Jessica, Annamae McAdams, Belinda Bell Holderness, and Rebecca Beca Holderness; and one great-great niece, Leta McAdams; cousin, Kathleen Wheeler of Rankin, TX; close friends Susie and James Bindel and family; and many, many friends and students.
