Claude "Rex" Brown

Claude “Rex” Brown, 69, of Carlsbad passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Hobbs, NM. Rex was born on March 15, 1955, in Albuquerque, NM. He moved to Carlsbad in the early 1980s. Rex had many jobs over the years but he most recently retired from the Eddy County Road Department. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Claude and Grizell Arris; his parents: Clarence and Claudine Brown; and two of his sisters: Rhonella Eldridge and Lynell Brown, as well as his chihuahua, Bully.

Survivors are his two brothers: Arlow and Louie Brown; one sister, Wynona Hawkins, all of Sparta, MO; three children: John Brown of Oklahoma, and Daniel and Sarah Brown of Carlsbad, NM; two grandchildren: Gage Brown and Lillian Reeves as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

There will be no services, cremation has taken place. A family memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in the Jemez Mountains.
