Charlie Ray Bryant, 51, of S. 6th St., Loving, New Mexico, passed away September 5, 2009 at his home. Visitation will be 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2009, 2:00 PM, at Loving Cemetery in Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Charlie Ray Bryant was born January 17, 1958 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Virgil Winfield and Mary Belle (McDonald) Bryant. He grew up in Carlsbad and attended Carlsbad schools. Charlie moved to Alaska where he worked as a carpenter for approximately one year. He returned to Carlsbad where he went to work for Kerr-McGee for ten years. Charlie then moved to Texas, where he worked in a coal mine for six years. He returned to Carlsbad for a short time, then moved to Arizona and Nevada to work as a miner. Upon retirement, he settled in Loving where he has been since 1998. Charlie enjoyed water skiing, hunting and horseback riding. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Raymond Bryant and one sister, Sharon Cain. He is survived by his daughter, Misti Michelle Bryant of Amarillo, TX; nine siblings: Ann Brock and husband, Richard of Arvada, CO, Lenora Ducharme of Gillette, WY, Betty Reese and husband, Bob of Temple, TX, Gene Bryant and wife, Carole of Carlsbad, NM, Ella Cooper of Salt Lake City, UT, Linda Ticknor and husband, Dan of Huntsville, TX, Carl Bryant and wife, Mellissa of Carlsbad, NM, Laura Beaver and husband, Bobby of Carlsbad,NM and Ernest Allen Bryant of Huntsville, TX and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
