Charles L. Harvey, Sr., 91, of North 3rd Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away December 3, 2010 at Lubbock Heart Hospital.
Visitation will be Monday, December 6, 2010, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Joiner officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Charles L. Harvey, Sr., was born January 7, 1919, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to James Preston and Susie Annie (Holland) Harvey. He served his country during WWII in the US Army and US Army Air Corp. Charles met Margaret Moore while he was stationed at Carlsbad Air Base and they were married October 15, 1944 here in Carlsbad. He worked for PCA Potash for 25 years. Charles later worked at Hall Machine for many years until he retired. Even in retirement, Charles enjoyed designing and building iron work for people all over town. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ and also the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and especially loved playing dominoes with his family. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, great-grandson Dane Lewis, two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Moore Harvey; one son, Charlie Harvey, Jr., and wife, Jeanie of Carlsbad, NM; one daughter, Jeanette Lewis and husband, Tom of Carlsbad, NM; grandson, Preston Harvey and wife, Ashley of Carlsbad, NM, grandson: Tom Lewis II and wife, Diane of Lubbock, TX, granddaughter: Melissa Simonin and husband, Brad of Las Cruces, NM; grandson: David Lewis and wife, Anne of McKenzie, TN and Becky Clements and husband, Taylor of Charlotte, NC; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Preston Harvey, Tom Lewis, II, David Lewis, Brad Simonin, Taylor Clements and Grant Lewis.
