Obituary
Charles Stanley Clutts, 72, of West Pierce Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Carlsbad Medical Center. Charles was born on June 5, 1947, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to James and Pearl Clutts.
Cremation has taken place, as well as a direct burial at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Charles graduated Carlsbad High School in 1966, and in the next year he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1967 and served in the Korean War. While in the service, he received the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Rifle Medal. After his service, Charles worked as a miner and plumber for Kerr McGee, IMC, and Yeager Plumbing. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was a Hunters Safety instructor for many years. Charles was a member of Blodgett Street Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, James Luther Clutts; and mother, Pearl Christine Clutts.
Charles is survived by his son, James David Clutts of Carlsbad, NM; two grandchildren: Lacey Clutts and Justin Tyler Clutts; and sister, Mary Beckett and husband, Larry of Willis, TX.
