Charles "Charlie" Meeks

Charles "Charlie" Meeks, 48, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away July 6, 2010 peacefully at home after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Charlie's life will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at 2420 Avenue A. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Charles "Charlie" Meeks was born October 27, 1961 in Fayetteville, NC. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1979. Charlie was in the appliance repair business for many years, working with Clean Corner Laundry and the other laundry facilities as needed. He enjoyed the outdoors and having coffee with his friends. Survivors are Bradley Downen of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Margie Hetrick of Columbia, SC; father, Ron Meeks of Carlsad, NM; biological father, Charles Bass of Huntsville, TX; two sisters: Kimberly Miterko of Columbia, SC, Kena Downey and husband, Sonny of Carlsbad, NM and several nieces and nephews.
