Chanel Lopez

After a protracted battle with cancer, our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Chanel Marie Lopez was called home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2022, at the age of 38 in San Antonio, Texas.

Chanel was born on July 2, 1983, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to her mother Corina Moreno. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2001 and attended college at New Mexico State University of Carlsbad. She grew up in a large loving family where she enjoyed cook outs full of laughter, music, and dancing. Weekends cruising with her cousins and listening to throwback music by artists like Aaliyah, TLC, and En Vogue.

Chanel became a mother to two beautiful children and settled her family in San Antonio, Texas where she worked at a fortune 100 company as an insurance care representative. She was known for her bright smile and infectious positivity. Despite facing a terminal illness, Chanel had such an optimistic outlook on life that inspired so many people. She went by many names depending on who called her. "Chee-kie mamas" by her mother,
"mom" by her kids, "Nae" by her cousins and friends, and "Cha-Cha" by her nieces and nephews. Chanel is preceded in death by her grandfather's Pascual Lopez, and Manual Sillas. She is survived by her children Alyssa Lopez, Devin Sanchez, mother Corina Moreno, fathers: George Moreno and Albert Sillas, Siblings Andrew Moreno, George Moreno Jr., Joseph Romero, Gizelle Romero, and Veronica Rodriguez, grandmother's Delma Lopez, Chris Sillas as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
