Carrie "Tweetsy" T. Ditto

Carrie T. "Tweetsy" Ditto, 87, of Greer Drive, Carlsbad, NM passed away May 27, 2010 at her home. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Terry McKean officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Carrie T. "Tweetsy" Ditto was born January 20, 1923 in Llano, TX to Charles Edman Townsend and Lula Tweet (Harrison) Townsend. Tweetsy graduated high school in 1941 from Artesia, NM., she married EW Ditto on February 15, 1943. Tweetsy and EW had three children and she was involved in Cub Scouts, Blue Birds and PTA for many years. Tweetsy was a seamstress and made and decorated many wedding, birthday and special occasion cakes for family and friends. Tweetsy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Afton and Bill Townsend and son-in-law, Dan L. Smith, brothers-in-law, Bill Hood, Wm. David Smith, Ben Standard and companion D.B. Dunn. Survivors are her son Douglas Ditto and wife Margie of Amarillo, TX, son Gary Ditto of Carlsbad, NM and daughter Kay Smith of Carlsbad, NM; seven grandchildren: Jamie Goldston of Amarillo, TX, Jodie Garcia and husband Dave of Rio Ranchero, NM, Jerie Schwab and husband Mike of Ft. Collins, CO, Alisha Thompson and husband Jerry of Carlsbad, NM, Heather Poncelow and husband Matt of Phoenix, AZ, Brady Ditto and wife Monica of Napierville, IL, Todd Ditto and fiance Lindsey Freeman of Albuquerque, NM; nine great-grandchildren and three sisters: Floy Standard of Tucson, AZ, Wanda Hood of Carlsbad, NM and Jo Smith of Bowie, TX and sister-in-law Alegra Townsend of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
