Carolyn Atkinson Jean Vest

Carolyn Atkinson Vest, 65 of E. Vine Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at her home. Private services took place. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Carolyn Atkinson Vest was born December 11, 1950 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to William Harold and Dorothy Elaine (Milam) Atkinson. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1968. Carolyn worked as a proof operator for several banks including Western Commerce Bank and Household Finance. She loved gardening, playing the piano and spoiling her 2 cats, Abby and Riley. Carolyn taught bible class at Southside Church of Christ and Fox and Lake Church of Christ in her younger years and continued to be faithful in the word. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents and nephew, Devon Clinton. Survivors are her sister, Mary Jane Patterson and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
