Carolyn Barton

Carolyn Barton, 76, of West Bonbright Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Carlsbad Medical Center. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Land officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Carolyn Barton was born January 2, 1939 to Fulton and Thelma (Davidson) Cameron in Bastrop, Louisiana. She married Jerry A. Barton on December 14, 1953. They moved to Carlsbad in 1970. Carolyn was a loving mother and dedicated her time to her family and her church. She enjoyed reading murder mysteries and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Barton and great-grandsons: Kyle and Kevin Klug. Survivors are three daughters: Debbie Sanders and husband, Curtis of Carlsbad, NM, Donna Lawson and husband, Kenny of Carlsbad, NM, Alisa West of Carlsbad, NM; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Cameron of Bastrop, LA and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Curtis Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Jeffrey Lawson, Joshua Lawson and Tyler West. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
