Carolina F. Duran, 69, of S. 4^th Street, Loving, NM, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at her home.  Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Oasis Church with Pastor Albert Alvarez officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Carolina F. Duran was born January 22, 1953 in Loving, New Mexico, to Antonio and Ramona (Ornelas) Fuentez.  She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1971.  Carolina married Manuel March 22, 1975.  She worked at CARC, Inc. for many years where she developed a love for plants and flowers supervising the greenhouse.  Carolina loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed making tamales and menudo for holidays and special occasions. Carolina was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel D. Duran; daughter, Carla R. Duran; grandson, Sergio M. Duran; mother, Ramona O. Fuentez and brother, Enrique O. Fuentez.

Survivors are her father, Antonio C. Fuentez of Loving, NM; daughter, Christina D. Urmston and husband, Daniel of Odessa, Texas; son, Jacob Lee Duran and significant other, Vanessa Calderon of Loving, NM; daughter, Cynthia D. Calderon and husband, Benny of Malaga, NM; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters: Gloria Duran of Loving, NM and Patsy Fuentez of Lovington, NM; brothers: Antonio O. Fuentez, Jr. of Loving, NM, Ricky O. Fuentez, Sr. and wife, Elva of Loving, NM, Jose O. Fuentez of Hobbs, NM, Rolando O. Fuentez and wife, Mary of Carlsbad, NM, Jerry O. Fuentez and wife, Gordie of Lovington, NM, and Leonard O. Fuentez and wife, Priscilla of Hobbs, NM; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Duran, Benny Calderon, III, Jacob Duran, Jr., Mark Fuentez, Derek Galindo, Rick Fuentez, Jr., Jonathan Fuentes and Patrick Galindo.
